---- — ‘We have turnedour backs on God’

In light of the Fort Hood shooting this past week, why are we surprised when Spc. Lopez goes on a shooting rampage? We are quick to blame it all on guns and mental illness, but in reality, there is a deeper cause that most Americans deny.

A few years ago, President Obama made the statement that America is no longer a Christian nation. This administration has gone all out to bring this statement true. We have politicians and liberal judges all around our country who, along with the ACLU, are on an all out campaign to destroy God in our daily lives. It began in schools, then government places, and now in the military.

When I was in the Army, God was an important part of our lives. We had chapel services in basic training and in our final assignments. In the battlefield we had chaplains who were free to speak the name of Jesus and God and now these rights have been taken away from them. It is no wonder soldiers who are on deployment time after time develop mental problems. The deployments are bad enough, but when they do not have God to turn to they have no means of mental healing and support.

Our liberal judges, with the help of the ACLU and legislators, are working hard to take God out of our society altogether. We have politicians who lie to us (including the president) and we just call it “politics.” We no longer have a moral yardstick to measure good and bad.

I am reminded about what God told Jeremiah, the prophet in Judah, before the Babylonian captivity: do not pray for the nation because he will not hear their prayers. The nation was sacrificing babies to idols. We are sacrificing the unborn babies to the idol of abortion and pro-choice. We have killed millions of babies since Roe v. Wade and we call it women’s rights. What used to be good is now evil in our country and vice versa.

All of this and we wonder why we have a soldier going on a rampage shooting fellow soldiers? We have turned our backs on God and we wonder what is happening to our country? Whether it be military or civilian, our country is in deep, deep, trouble. God punished Judah for her wickedness and we are no better.

Why should we be surprised when bad things happen in our country? I will be chastised for what I am saying, but Jeremiah also went through persecution for his warnings to Judah. People of faith are being demonized, but they are on God’s side. We will not survive unless there is a great turnaround and repentance on the part of our government leaders and a return to faith and put God back where he belongs in our country. Unfortunately, I am not too encouraged this will ever take place. I personally believe it will only get worse. I do not see a silver lining ahead for America. However, I know God is still in control of this world and America and his judgments on our nation will prevail.

Drs. cannot get live hearts from cadavers

If you are an organ donor, your life may be at risk. If you have ever heard the term “brain dead,” you might not know that it doesn’t mean you are dead. No one pronounced “brain dead” is ever dead; they are still a living soul, alive. There are many documented cases of people who have been pronounced “brain dead” who have recovered.

To successfully harvest organs to be transplanted, they have to come from a body that is alive. For example, the last thing doctors observe when they harvest a heart is that it is still beating. It is impossible for doctors to get a beating heart from a cadaver, so there is no death until they remove that heart.

Now, I don’t know about you, but I don’t appreciate being lied to. I can’t tell anyone not to be an organ donor, but as for me, I would appreciate it if they let me know up front they are going to take my heart while I am still alive. That happens to concern me. You decide.

This should not be a shock to anyone. If anyone remembers the Terri Schiavo case, you will recall that doctors were allowed to starve her to death while she was still interacting with her family. Throw in the fact that we slaughter 3,000 to 4,000 of the most innocent among us every day, and this is what we can expect from this culture of death. It is becoming the new normal.
