Co. attorney gives $500 to Heron bid

By law, the political candidates in our county’s upcoming election are required to file a campaign finance report with the county clerk. The law states all reports must be received and filed by 12 noon.

According to the Indiana Election Division manual, a candidate, by law, will be fined $50 per day for a report filed past the deadline, with after noon on the deadline day being counted as day 1. In Tipton County, all candidates met this requirement except Phil Heron. When he finally filed his report, it was interesting to see that our County Attorney John Brooke had contributed $500 to Mr. Heron’s campaign.

Since Mr. Brooke was hired by Tipton County in 2009, there have been three incumbents run for re-election. Mr. Brooke made contributions to only Mr. Cline and Mr. Heron.

It will be interesting to see if Mr. Heron pays the late filing fine.

Vote for Geiselman, Democratic voters

I want to share my support of Steve Geiselman in the upcoming primary election. Steve is running for Center Township Advisory Board.

Steve is a progressive thinker who really cares about people. He has served our community with such organizations as Special Olympics of Howard County, the Literacy Coalition of Howard County and the Howard County Sports Hall of Fame.

Steve would be a great addition to the Center Township Advisory Board, and I encourage all Democratic voters to vote for him.

Wyman is advocate for county wind farm

As many of you know, Mr. Paul Wyman is running unopposed in this May’s primary. And many of you also know that Mr. Wyman is outspoken in his advocacy of industrial wind turbines in Howard County.

I strongly oppose incumbent Paul Wyman, and ask that you please do not mark your primary ballot for this Republican candidate.
