Obama builds case with inconveniences
I just saw the news on television about the air-traffic controllers getting furloughed because of the sequester. It is a disgrace what the administration is doing. It is targeting the cuts in spending to the very things that matter directly to the daily lives of millions of Americans in order to build pressure for tax increases.
The sequester is less than 3 percent of the budget and could easily be met by cutting things like: $45 billion of stimulus money that has not been spent, $445 million for public broadcasting, $420 million from legal services, $1.5 billion from Amtrak subsidies, $7.5 billion by cutting the federal travel budget in half.
The list is much longer, but these are just a few of the items that could be cut, and most Americans would not even know it happened. These items are from a proposal the Democrat-controlled Senate will not consider.
