Kokomo police and Kokomo Fire Department medics responded to a report of a man lying unresponsive in a northside Kokomo parking lot shortly before noon Monday.
Arriving at the scene, they found Robert Eriksen, 59, 2000 block of North Philips, deceased. Initial reports were that county coroners officials found no signs of foul play, however, the case remains under investigation, Kokomo police Lt. Don Whitehead said in a statement Monday.
Eriksen lived in an apartment in a building on the property where his body was found, Whitehead said. He was discovered around 11:26 a.m. by a man and a woman who were staying with him in his residence, he added. An autopsy is scheduled today at Howard Regional Health System.
Anyone with information regarding the case is asked to call Whitehead at (765) 456-7248, the Kokomo Police Hotline at (765) 456-7017, or callers can qualify for a cash reward by calling Central Indiana Crime Stoppers at (800) 922-5378.
