Cook wins over ‘Idol’ judges ... again

March 25, 2008 10:20 pm

Last week, “American Idol” judge/possible David Cook fan Simon Cowell warned that he’s becoming dangerously close to bored and told Cook to lay off the rocker bit in exchange for switching it up a bit.
It appears Cook listens well. This week he left the judges in awe with Michael Jackson’s “Billie Jean” by way of Chris Cornell.
“I think you are the most original, most bold contestant we’ve ever had,” said Randy Jackson, who referred to Cook as “molten hot.” “Dude, you might win the whole lot.”
Paula Abdul, who gave the passionate performance a standing ovation, praised Cook for testing his boundaries.
“You do it right to the edge without going over.”
Even tough-love Cowell gushed praised on the performance.
“This was brave,” he said. “It could have been insane or amazing, and I have to tell you, it was amazing.”
Tune in at 9 p.m. tonight on Fox to find out if America agrees with the judges.
