Police are looking for a man who forced his way into a woman’s home on the city’s northwest side early Tuesday, pistol whipped her and attempted to sexually assault the woman.
Officers of the Kokomo Police Department were dispatched at 2:47 a.m. to a residence in the 800 block of North Indiana Street in reference to a burglary.
Upon their arrival, officers found a 48-year-old female who was suffering from minor head injuries. The female said she had been in her residence at about midnight when someone knocked on her door. When she opened the door, a white male forced his way into the house. Armed with a handgun, the man began hitting her in the head with the gun and attempted to sexually assault her, police said.
The suspect was described as either a white or Hispanic male with a dark complexion, wearing a red hooded sweatshirt, baggy jeans, and white rubber gloves.
The victim was transported to St. Joseph Hospital for treatment of minor head injuries and was later released. Anyone with information about this case is asked to contact Detective Scott Purtee at (765) 456-7322. You may qualify for a cash reward by calling Central Indiana Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
