Property taxes due by Nov. 10

The fall payment on property taxes is due Nov. 10 at the Howard County Treasurer’s Office – and can be paid at several local banks.

Taxes not paid by Nov. 10 are subject to a 10 percent penalty.

Taxes may be paid in person or sent to the Howard County Treasurer’s Office at the Howard County Administration Center, 226 N. Main St., Kokomo, IN 46901. A drop box is located in the lobby and is open 24 hours a day.

Property owners also can pay online using a credit card via the county’s Web site, www.co.howard.in.us, or pay by credit card in the office. Both options are accompanied by a convenience fee.

Taxpayers also can pay at one of the following banks:

• Harris Bank, no charge.

• National City, no charge to customers; 50 cents for non-bank customers.

• Community First, no charge.

• First Farmers, no charge to customers; $3 for non-bank customers.

• Central Bank, no charge.

• STAR Bank, no charge.

• KeyBank, no charge.

For tax issues, contact the Treasurer’s Office at 765-456-2213. County offices are open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.
