Activities surrounding Military Appreciation Days continues this weekend with two events honoring veterans.
Todau, the VFW Post 1152 will host “Veterans Stand Down,” which offers help to military, military family members and veterans who may need a variety of services.
And on Saturday, veterans and others will jump on their motorcycles for “A Ride To Remember” run sponsored by Agape Ministries. Registration begins 9:30 a.m. at the Harley-Davidson store on U.S. 31. The ride is set to begin between 10:30 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. and will be kicked off with flyover with two fighter jets. The ride begins at the Harley store and will go past several veterans memorials in Kokomo and by the new veterans home on East Jackson Street.
Along with motorcycles, there will be a group of antique cars and other vehicles participating in the ride.
Money raised will go to help the Howard County Wounded Warriors Housing Projects and Help Military Kids Smile Project.
The event also features a POW/MIA Dedication and Military Family Appreciation Day at Agape Garden Gym, 804 S. Purdum St., after the ride. At the dedication, there will be a 22-foot inflatable slide, bounce house and carnival games for kids.
