---- — An 84-year-old Russiaville woman remains in critical condition after a Saturday morning car accident.

According to police reports, James B. Ramsey, 41, Sharpsville, was driving a 2012 Dodge Ram north on Dixon Road just after 10 a.m. Saturday.

Esther P. Carter, in a 1998 Buick Century, allegedly missed the red light on Ind. 22 as Ramsey was driving through the intersection and T-boned him, according to a statement Ramsey gave police.

When police arrived, Carter was not coherent.

Carter was taken by ambulance to Community Howard Regional Health, and later was flown to IU Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, where she underwent surgery.

According to police, Carter sustained the most severe damage internally in her chest.

Both vehicles were towed from the scene, with a damage estimate of $25,000 to $50,000.

Carter was still in critical condition Monday afternoon in Indianapolis, according to a Methodist Hospital spokesperson.
