For many people, this week represents spring break. For many adults, though, spring break is but a distant memory. So, we wanted to know: “Thinking back, what was your most memorable spring break and why?”

Your answers

“[It was] 2005; the spring break right before high school graduation. Me and my BFFs. We didn’t go anywhere exotic or travel. Our mommies and daddies wouldn’t pay for that so we just hung out, did stupid stuff and had so much fun.” — Ashley Reed

“2014. I married my best friend! Panama City Beach!” — Katelyn Danielle Grube

“I think it was 1991? The year of the ice storm. I had a blast.” — Cassie Scott

Our answers

“Oh, I know this one! In my junior year in college, my roommate and best friend took me with her family to see New York City — my first time visiting the City that Never Sleeps. You’d think an aspiring journalist would have been most impressed by the aura of the nation’s unofficial media hub, but no — Grand Central Terminal’s aged architecture was the most impressive, maybe because my roommate also showed me a side room where you could whisper into one corner and be heard in the opposite corner.” — Sarah Einselen

“My most memorable spring break was going to Walt Disney World with my track teammates during my senior year of high school. We got to work out at the ESPN Wide World of Sports complex and visit a different theme park every day. The sun, parks and fun with my friends made up for the 16-hour bus ride there and back.” — Lauren Fitch

“That’s an easy one: 2003. My friend and roommate Jonathan had driven from Bloomington to Charleston, S.C. The day we arrived we sat in our hotel room and watched the start of the Iraq War on TV.” — Rob Burgess
