The 3 to 5 inches of fresh snow that fell on top of slush and ice late Saturday and early Sunday may be followed up with up to 9 inches next week.
The National Weather Service in Indianapolis reported the next storm could bring 7 to 9 more inches of the white stuff to the Kokomo area Tuesday and Wednesday. Areas to the south of Kokomo are expected to see more freezing rain and sleet than snow, but it appears Kokomo will get mainly snow, the NWS reported Sunday.
The snow is expect to begin early to mid-afternoon with the heavy snow coming in the late evening.
The recent snow and ice made for treacherous driving conditions late Saturday and early Sunday, but no serious accidents were reported, county and city police dispatchers said.
