Fall enrollment numbers will determine how many of those teaching positions are filled, Barnes said. Combined, the retirees spent more than 600 years at Kokomo Schools and more than 750 years in education.
Also at Thursday’s meeting, the board approved removing “interim” from Holly Herrera’s title as principal of Central Middle School.
“I look forward to the opportunity to continue my work with the International Baccalaureate school, as well as with the opening of the Integrated Arts program at Central Middle International School,” Herrera said in a press release.
The next regular board meeting is scheduled for 5 p.m. April 14 in the board room at the Administrative Services Center.
