The story is presented through dramatic re-enactments and interviews with Jim Grund’s family, a crime writer and Ann Hubbard, a former Kokomo Tribune reporter who covered the trial.
This isn’t the first time the Peru murder has gotten attention from media outlets.
In 1995, a Los Angeles screenwriter and producer spent a week interviewing Peru residents to research the case for a CBS television movie.
Later that same year, a book titled “Deadly Seduction,” by Wensley Clarkson, came out profiling the murder.
In 2010, Investigation Discovery did another profile on Susan Grund in a series called “Facing Evil,” a four-part miniseries that featured former FBI criminal profiler Candice DeLong, the real-life person behind the detective in the movie “Silence of the Lambs.”
Grund is currently serving a 60-year prison sentence in the Rockville Correctional Facility, near Terre Haute. Her earliest possible release date is 2022, according to the Indiana Department of Corrections.
