A fire caused significant damage to a house on North Union Street early Monday morning, but fire department officials say no injuries were reported.
A 911 call was received at 5:30 a.m. reporting a fire at 1215 N. Union St. Firefighters arrived minutes later to the single-story home, and contained the flames within 15 minutes.
Battalion Chief Chris Hall said the house was occupied at the time of the fire, but didn’t know how many people were inside.
He said he wasn’t aware of any reported injuries. The American Red Cross was on scene to assist the occupants.
Hall said the worst of the fire was in the front of the house, and caused significant structural damage.
“It was pretty bad,” he said. “Flames were coming out of the windows.”
No damage estimates were available.
He said the cause of the fire is still undetermined.
