The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather warning that includes Howard and Tipton counties lasting from 1 p.m. Tuesday through 1 p.m. Wednesday. Miami County is under a winter weather watch. A low pressure system will bring significant snow to the region and roads may become impassable due to heavy snow and drifting.
Accumulations of 7 to 10 inches are predicted with the heaviest snow falling Tuesday afternoon into early Wednesday morning.
Anyone who must travel is advised to have a winter survival kit that includes food, water, a flashlight and blankets.
