---- — 5 p.m.: Michelle Kennedy waits in line to purchase an elephant ear with her four children, Connor, 7, Aidan, 9, Breanna, 4, and Kaitlin, 8 months.
“We rode one ride, and we’re going to go back for more,” Michelle said. “I like the food, and it’s a good excuse to get out with the kids and have fun and enjoy the rides.”
5:30 p.m.: James Reed, 18, stood around at the Howard County 4H Fair nibbling on curly fries, waiting to meet his mother.
“I like coming here and seeing what’s new and seeing what’s been around for awhile,” he said.
His favorite part of the fair is Grandpa Cratchet, a puppet that gives advice to little kids.
