A Kokomo man faces a charge of failure to register as a sex offender stemming from a 1997 child molest conviction.
Howard County sheriff deputies served a warrant Tuesday for the arrest of William A. Jenks, 42, at his residence in the 800 block of Apperson Way South.
Jenks pleaded guilty in Howard Superior Court 1 to a Class B felony charge of child molest and was sentenced to 10 years in prison with two years suspended and four years of probation with the conditions he register as a sex offender.
At the time, Jenks' address was listed as 4508 E. 200 South. After his release, Jenks was charged with failure to register as sex offender in 2011. He was then sentenced to two years in prison.
After his release, Jenks allegedly failed to register a second time resulting in the recent warrant.
On Tuesday, Jenks also was charged with a petition to revoke a suspended sentence for not complying with probation relating to the child molest charge.
He is being held on $15,000 bail for failing to register and a $10,000 bail on the petition to revoke warrant.
An initial hearing is set for July 2.
