A 24-year-old Kokomo man wanted on two counts of felony rape surrendered to Howard County sheriff deputies Wednesday afternoon.
Zachary T. Allen turned himself in to the Howard County jail at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday. He was wanted on a warrant for two Class B felony charges of rape.
The warrant, filed in Howard Superior Court 2, requested by Kokomo police accuses Allen of raping a 22-year-old woman on two occasions, Maj. Brian Seldon reported.
The victim reported in April that she was raped once at Allen’s residence and once at her residence, Seldon said.
When questioned, Allen denied the accusations and denied knowing the victim.
The investigation showed that Allen’s DNA was recovered from a rape kit performed on the victim.
Allen remained jailed on a $30,000 cash-only bail Thursday afternoon.
If convicted, he could face up to 20 years on each charge.
