PERU — State police say an Indianapolis man was injured Tuesday afternoon after a dump truck rear ended him on U.S. 31 in Miami County.
Anthony Swindle, 31, Mooresville, and Claude Robinson, 55, Indianapolis, were stopped at a traffic light at U.S. 31 and 100 North in a 2004 Dodge van just before 1 p.m.
Stopped behind them was a dump truck driven by Jason Grigsby, 37, Medaryville.
When the traffic light turned green, both vehicles accelerated. The dump truck accelerated at a faster pace than the van and rear ended it, police said.
Robinson sustained non-life threatening injuries and was transported to Dukes Memorial Hospital. Grigsby and Swindle were not injured.
Police say they don’t suspect alcohol or drugs contributed to the crash.
Grigsby was issued a traffic citation for following another vehicle too closely.
