Kokomo police arrested two people Thursday on meth charges after fire crews and police responded to a report of a mobile home fire.
Kokomo firefighters were called at about 8:45 a.m. to a mobile home at 1810 N. Washington St., engulfed in flames. But when firefighters arrived there was no visible fire.
After an investigation by fire crews and Kokomo police, officers found a fire in the kitchen of a mobile home related to the manufacture of meth, Detective Tonda Cockrell said.
After discovering the lab, police obtained a search warrant and arrested Kevin Conrad, 21, and Jerry Glenn, 26, each on felony charges of manufacturing meth, possession of meth and possession of a drug lab.
Conrad was suffering from burns and was taken to St. Joseph Hospital, where he was treated and released into police custody, Cockrell said.
Officers of KPD’s drug unit and the Indiana State Police Meth Suppression Team were called to handle the meth-related chemicals.
Anyone with further information about this case is asked to call the Kokomo Police Department at 765-459-5101 or the KPD Hotline at 765-456-7107.
