Police release new surveillance photos

— Kokomo police continue searching for an armed man suspected of robbing three banks in a one-week span.

On Thursday, police were called to two armed robberies. The first was reported at 11:09 a.m. at Kokomo Heritage Credit Union, where a man in his 20s or 30s walked in the bank armed with a dark-colored handgun demanding money.

Then at 4:34 p.m., police were called to Regions Bank, 3545 S. Lafountain St., on another robbery report.

The description of the man in both robberies is similar to a description of a man who robbed Star Financial Bank, 1718 E. Markland Ave., on Dec. 28, according to police.

He is described as standing approximately 6 feet tall wearing a dark-hooded jacket. In Thursday’s robberies, the suspect had a gray scarf covering his face. In the Dec. 28 holdup, the man had a mask covering his face that made him look older.

At each business, the robber fled before police arrived.

Detectives released surveillance photos from the Regions Bank robbery in hopes someone will recognize him. Police also obtained an outside surveillance video from Marsh showing the suspect leaving the area in a dark-colored Chrysler minivan.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Kokomo Police Department at 765-459-5101 or the KPD Hotline at 765-456-7017.
