Joel Hunt paid tribute to his Tiger roots Friday by donating the sweater he wore during the opening ceremonies of the 2014 Paralympic Games to Northwestern High School.
Hunt graduated from Northwestern in 1998. He then enlisted in the Army and served three tours in Iraq. Hunt received a Purple Heart for his service, which left him with post-traumatic stress disorder, traumatic brain injury and paralysis to his left leg.
Hunt took up skiing as part of the rehab for his leg, which eventually led him to a spot on the Paralympic Alpine Ski Team at the 2014 Paralympic Games in Sochi, Russia.
