Police searching for robbery suspect

Village Pantry robbed early Sunday morning

— Kokomo police are looking for a man who robbed a Village Pantry early Sunday morning.

Police responded to the convenience store located at 420 E. Morgan St. just before 4 a.m. after the clerk reported an armed robbery.

The clerk said a male suspect entered the store and led her to the cash register holding an object against her back. Once at the register, the suspect removed an undisclosed amount of cash and fled eastbound.

The clerk was not injured during the incident.

Police say the suspect was described as about  5 foot 5 inches in height, around 160 pounds, unkempt, between 20 and 30 years old, and had scruffy facial hair with a “tight goatee.” Police say he was wearing a black T-shirt, long black basketball style shorts with white edging and stripes along the sides, black socks and black tennis shoes.

Police said they continue to investigate the incident.
