4:30 p.m. Kyle Wagler, 14, sits inside the Porky’s food tent at the Howard County 4-H fair. He’s enjoying fries and alligator bites.
“It’s good,” Wagler said. “I’ll tell you right now, you got to eat it with salt and Louisiana hot sauce,” he said, generously shaking salt onto it.
5 p.m. Norm and Kathy Snyder, 55 and 54, watch their three grandchildren, Ethan, 6, Leah, 4, and Owen, 18 months, ride the merry-go-round.
”We’re having a great time,” Norm said. “We keep coming back for the food and the fun.”
5:30 p.m. Annette Ward strolls around the Greentown 4-H pavilion looking at the cows, particularly a brown calf.
”I mostly come out to see the animals,” Ward said. “They’re cute and friendly. Most of the time.”
