Breaded tenderloin - $4
Rock’s concessions booth boasted that its tenderloins were the best in Grant County, a “hand breaded giant,” and “the real one.”
So, of course I had to try it out. It is giant. I ordered half a breaded tenderloin, and as it turned out, I could only eat half of the half.
It tasted perfect with the right amount of crisp and a soft bun on either side. Topped off with my favorite tenderloin condiments: mustard, onions and pickles. It was the perfect treat for an evening at the fair.
Word of advice: while eating, don’t go anywhere near the livestock pavilion. With the sheep, cows and pigs living there all week, it’s the last thing you want to smell while trying to enjoy your dinner.
