---- — PERU — State police arrested four people from Lexington, Ky., on an array of drug charges during a traffic stop Wednesday on U.S. 31 in Miami County.

The stop by Indiana State Trooper Luke Bowyer at 4 p.m. led to the arrests of Katherine Foxworth, 24, Daniel Fogtman, 25, Daniel Shields, 23, and Gregory Kuzman, 29, all from Lexington. All four were incarcerated in the Miami County Jail. Foxworth faces felony charges for possession of cocaine, possession of psilocybin mushrooms, possession of LSD, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of a schedule IV narcotic. Fogtman was arrested on felony charges for possession of marijuana with a prior conviction, possession of LSD, possession of cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of methamphetamine. Shields and Kuzman face misdemeanor counts for possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana under 30 grams, state police reported in a news release.

The four were traveling north on U.S. 31, near Miami County Road 600 North, in a Honda Accord when they were stopped by Bowyer for failing to signal a lane change, the news release stated.

During the course of the traffic stop, Bowyer became suspicious and requested a narcotics detecting K-9 unit to assist.

The K-9, Zeke, conducted a free air sniff around the Honda and alerted to the odor of illegal narcotics inside the vehicle. During a search of the Honda and its occupants, officers reported finding methamphetamine, marijuana, prescription medication, cocaine, psilocybin mushrooms, LSD, and drug paraphernalia.
