---- — MACY – A 30-year-old Macy man faces 30 felony charges after deputies say he stole around $10,000 from his grandparents’ bank account.

Brody A. Rice was arrested Friday after deputies said he stole checks from his grandparents, who are in their 70s, forged their signatures and negotiated the checks at banks in Peru and Logansport.

Deputies said an undetermined amount of the forged checks were cashed from September to November.

The incident came to deputies' attention when the grandmother came to the department and reported thousands of dollars were missing from their bank account.

Rice faces 15 counts of forgery and 15 counts of theft. He is being held at the Miami County jail on a $265,000 bond.
