---- — Ready to ride?! The History Mystery Ride and Stride is on Sept. 28, 2013. The Miami County Museum, Breakaway Bike, Modern Graphics and Visionary Web are offering you this invitation to be a part of this first-time event at the Riverwalk in Peru. Participants will have a chance to win prizes, including a new bicycle from Breakaway Bike, an electronic device, and $200 gift certificate from Eye Physicians, Inc. Optical Shop. Go to www.miamicountyhistory.org/wheels and enter the code MUS to pre-register by Thursday, Sept. 26 for $18. Participants who register before Saturday, Sept. 21, will receive a free tee-shirt. The registration fee on the day of the event is $25. Start and end location: Riverwalk, PeruRegistration/Check-in: 9 a.m. at the RiverwalkBike ride start time: 9:30 a.m.Bike ride end time: 3:30 p.m.Event end time: 4 p.m.Bike stops: City of Peru – Miami County Museum, Cole Porter Inn, Circus City Festival Inc, Cole Porter gravesite, and Historic Depot. North Miami County – Old Stone House, Birmingham Prairie Grass, Stockdale Mill. South and west Miami County – Mississinewa Reservoir, Old Fashion Gardens, International Circus Hall of Fame, and lower 7 Pillars.Ride distances: Each rider can choose their own route from the maps provided. Approximate round trip distances are 5 miles around the city of Peru stops, 36 miles on the northern points, and 20 miles on the southern points.Ride description: Riders choose their own stops from the 12 locations listed above. To participate in the door prize, attendees will need to go to all stops in one of the three routes. At each stop, individuals can roll a pair of dice and a volunteer will record the score. The score card will be your ticket for the door prizes.Event description: We invite you to join us at the Riverwalk after your ride for music and food. Food vendors will be Boondocks and Hoos Ur Girls. Mark & Troy will play from noon to 1 p.m., Jason McKeever from 2 to 3 p.m., and Swamp Water Stompers from 3 to 4 p.m.Parking: Homer’s Restaurant and Fun Center, 421 W. Canal St., Peru.Other details: Helmets are required. No rain date.
