Rebecca Hampton says she has a ‘love-hate’ relationship with training

As the first week of the Kokomo Tribune and Anytime Fitness’ Mommy Makeover draws to a close, our three moms are a little sore and have made a few tweaks to their nutrition — but they are noticing changes already.
Rebecca Hampton said she’s been to a handful of sessions with personal trainer Rob Land and her jeans are fitting more comfortably and she is loaded with energy, even though the sessions are serious business.
“I love it. It’s one of those things where I really look forward to it, and in the middle of it, I hate it and when I’m done with it, I want to do it again,” she said with a laugh. “It’s a weird love-hate relationship.”
Hampton said that the soreness might be the toughest part and that toting her son, Miles, around has been challenging. But other than that, she is fired up and ready for the next seven weeks as she, Jennie Rhees and Charity Rossiter reclaim their pre-pregnancy bodies and share their stories with Tribune readers.
For Rebecca, one of the best parts has been having a little bit of time for herself and letting Miles and her husband, Robby, have some bonding time to themselves.
“I feel like since I’ve had Miles, everything is about him, even when you’re pregnant,” she said. “This has been something that’s just for me.”
But fitness has been something that the entire Hampton family knew they were signing up for together. The Hamptons have been cooking together and shopping together. And Robby has even lost 2 pounds since the start of Mommy Makeover.
“Groceries are more expensive!” Rebecca said with a laugh. She said she knew healthy food and fresh fruits and vegetables would cost a little more but she feels good strolling up to the check-out line with a basket full of produce.
All in all, Rebecca says right now, she feels this two-month project is shaping up to be a success.
But she goes back to work in a few weeks and will begin working out at 5 a.m.
“Talk to me then,” she said with a chuckle.
