Police sirens

Police say a house on Council Ring Boulevard was struck by gunfire Sunday morning, after a homeowner fired shots at a man he found inside his vehicle.

Police say Andrew Boles, 32, reported at around 5:02 a.m. that an unknown man had gotten into one of his vehicles in the driveway of his home on the 5500 block of Council Ring Boulevard, according to a release.

Boles told officers he armed himself and then announced to the man that he had a gun. Police said the man was also armed and pointed a handgun at Boles, who then fired several shots at the man. The man fled without firing back.

Police said a neighbor’s house was struck by the gunfire, but it is unknown whether the man was hit.

No injuries were reported during the investigation.

Police said the man was driving a dark colored SUV and was described as wearing a gray jacket, bandana and some type of head covering.
