What is Kokomo Tribune NIE?

The Newspapers in Education (NIE) program is a service that places newspapers in area classrooms to be used as an educational resource.

The mission of NIE is to encourage and promote literacy, connect students to their communities and world and provide educators witha powerful teaching tool.

Children increase their knowledge every day with the Newspaper in Education program. 375,000 of Kokomo Tribune newspapers will be delivered this school year in Howard County and are used as “living textbooks”. In addition NIE provides and distributes curriculum and related materials to teachers.

Newspapers in Education CAN make a difference in YOUR classroom!
