Crawford E. “Gene” Cramer Jr., 71, Amboy, died at 8:01 a.m. Friday, March 21, 2008, in Howard Regional Health System, Kokomo. He was born Sept. 5, 1936, in Indianapolis, the son of Crawford and Eileen Ida West Cramer. On Sept. 5, 1957, in Peru, he married Sheila LaGue, who survives.
He retired from Delco Electronics in 1997 after 30 years of service. He served in the U.S. Army in Korea and in the U.S. Air Force in Vietnam. He was a member of Amboy Friends Church.
Surviving along with his spouse, Sheila Cramer, Amboy, are children, Brian E. Cramer, Colorado Springs, Colo., Jacqueline and Donald McPeak, LaFontaine, Karen and Jim Lemons, Amboy, Debbie and Scott Vawter, Amboy, and Christopher Cramer, Summerset; brothers, Ronnie Cramer, California, and Butch Cramer and Wayne Cramer, both of Indiana; sisters, Janice Skaggs and Debbie Besaw, both of Indiana; grandchildren, Heather McPeak Lewis, Ryan Cramer of the U.S. Army, Jordan Vawter, Joe McPeak, Brandi Cramer, Trissy Lemons York, Gina Lemons of the U.S. Air Force, Chelsey Vawter, Abigail Cramer, Angela Cramer and Chad Cramer; and several great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Services are 2 p.m. Tuesday at Laird Funeral Home. The Rev. John Haines and the Rev. Dwight Elliott will officiate. Burial will be in Park Lawn Cemetery, Amboy. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday at Laird Funeral Home, 201 N. Main St., Amboy. Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to the American Cancer Society or the American Lung Association.
