Robert Eugene Elson

March 31, 1930 - April 28, 2008

Robert Eugene Elson, 78, Kokomo, died at 12:58 a.m. Monday, April 28, 2008, at St. Joseph Hospital, Kokomo. He was born March 31, 1930, in Kokomo, to the late Ernest Elson and the late Birdie Brown

In 1958, he married Dorothy Mae Hall, and she preceded him in death in 2002. He was employed for 10 years at Opalescent Glass, then for 21 years with the city of Kokomo Sanitation Department before retiring.

He enjoyed sports, wrestling and watching television.

He is survived by two sons, Jerry Lee and wife Julie Elson, and Charles Edward Elson, both of Kokomo; two daughters, Linda Sue and husband Charles Kelley and Betty Floyd, both of Kokomo; brother, Eddy Elson, Pennsylvania; 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and two sisters.

Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Friday in Albright Cemetery. Burial will follow. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in Ellers Mortuary Main Street Chapel.
