Paul W. Grandstaff, 65, of rural Peru, Ind., died at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 6, 2008, at his residence. He was born Jan. 25, 1943, in Peru, to Ralph Wilbur and Ethel Mae (Perry) Grandstaff. He married Connie Jean Strong on July 19, 1964, in Denver, and she died May 12, 2004.
He was a member of Chili United Methodist Church but attended Olive Branch Church of God. He retired in 2007 from Chrysler transmission plant in Kokomo, after 41 years. Paul enjoyed glass etching, fishing, and reading.
He is survived by his mother, Ethel Mae Grandstaff, Denver; four daughters, Debbie Grandstaff, Bloomington, Tina (Stephen) Hopkins, Waldorf, Md., Angela Grandstaff, Peru, and Robin Grandstaff, Spencer; his son, Scott (Crystal) Grandstaff, Omaha, Neb.; eight grandchildren, Benjamin and Emma Hopkins, both of Waldorf, Md., Ashley, Joshua, and Rachael Grandstaff, all of Des Moines, Iowa, and Haleigh, Breanna, and Robert Paul Grandstaff, all of Omaha, Neb.
Funeral services are 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Grandstaff-Hentgen Roann Chapel, 335 Chippewa Road, Roann, with Rev. Lowell Burrus officiating. Burial will be in Chili Cemetery, Chili. Friends may call 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Preferred memorials are American Heart Association or American Cancer Society.
