Barbara L. Ritchey, 75, Bringhurst, died at 2:49 p.m. Thursday, May 8, 2008, at St. Vincent Heart Center of Indiana. She was born Feb. 6, 1933, in Swayzee, to Jum and Charlene (Phillips) Haynes. She married Kenneth R. Ritchey on July 4, 1973, at Burlington Brethren Church.
She retired in 1980 from Delco Electronics as an inspector. She was a 1951 graduate of Swayzee High School. She was a member of the Russiaville Order of the Eastern Star #130 and the Kokomo Booster Club. She enjoyed flower gardening, cooking, spending winters in Florida and playing euchre.
She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Ritchey, Bringhurst; a son, Jay Tinkle and wife Berta, Marion; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a brother, Robert Haynes, Indianapolis; two stepdaughters, Teresa Waters, Mount Vernon, Wash., and Michelle Slayton, Phoenix, Ariz.
She was preceded in death by five brothers and a half-sister.
Services are 11 a.m. Tuesday at Neptune Funeral Home, 44 Michigan St., Burlington, with Dan Butcher officiating. Calling will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Burlington Cemetery.
