Stacy Renee (Clark) Curtis, 40, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 10, 2008, at her home, after a strong and courageous battle with cancer. Her family was at her side. She was born June 9, 1967, in Kokomo, to Herbert C. Clark and Maxine (Rhew) Clark.
She was a 1985 graduate from Taylor High School and worked at Howard Regional Health System as a housekeeper. She had also worked many years as a housekeeper at Holiday Inn Express in Kokomo.
Her main love and priority was taking care of her five children and spending time with her family. She enjoyed writing stories, reading, going out to eat and making friends. She didn’t know a stranger. She loved making people laugh and telling stories from her childhood. She will be dearly missed by many.
Survivors include three daughters, Mandy Suter, Kendra and Shelby Curtis; two sons, Jacob Curtis and Joseph Lawless, all of Kokomo; mother, Maxine Clark, Kokomo; two brothers, Bill Clark and wife Joyce, Kokomo, and Terry Clark and wife Pam, Salida, Colo.; loving boyfriend, Michael Lawless, Kokomo; former husband of 20 years, Donald Curtis, Mount Pleasant, Ark.; and numerous loving relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father and two brothers.
Funeral services are 3 p.m. Tuesday at Shirley and Stout Funeral Home, Lincoln Road Chapel, 1315 W. Lincoln Road, with Pastor Brad Swain officiating. Burial will follow in Albright Cemetery. Visiting will be 1 to 3 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
