Howard G. Conwell

Howard G. Conwell, 93, Kokomo passed away at 8:05 p.m. Sunday, May 25, 2008, at St. Joseph Hospital in Kokomo. He was born May 2, 1915, in Howard County to James Levi and Katie Pearl (Kerby) Conwell. On May 26, 1939, he married Frances (Hart) Conwell in Howard County and she survives.
A lifelong farmer, he was a member of Shiloh Methodist Church, Kokomo, Howard County ASC and Galveston Masonic Lodge and a director for Howard County Farm Bureau from 1973 to 1988. He enjoyed farming and gardening.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Vickie and James Oaks, Kokomo; son, Jeff and Dora Conwell, Kokomo; grandchildren, Suzanne and Doug Kuhlman, Noblesville, Melinda and Dean Wiseman, Augusta, Ga., Brad and Christina Conwell, Kokomo, and Sarah Conwell, Kokomo; and great-grandchildren, Amanda and James Kuhlman and Anzie Wiseman; and a sister, Emma and Ralph Pollock, Russiaville.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and a sister.
Services are 11 a.m. Wednesday at Murray Weaver Funeral Home in Galveston, 401 S. California St., Galveston, with entombment to follow at Sunset Memory Gardens. Family and friends may call 10 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the funeral home.
