Jo Ann (Mohler) Hood, 81, Greentown, died 7 a.m. Wednesday, July 1, 2009, at her residence. She was born Jan. 16, 1928, in Union Township to Harley V. Mohler and Nettie Leona (Surface) Mohler.
Jo Ann was employed at Dirilyte, Star Glove and Hutto’s Drug Store. She graduated from Union High School in 1946. She was a member of Meridian Street Christian Church, O.E.S. 195 at Greentown and Union Township Home Demonstration Club.
She enjoyed quilting, painting in oils and was an avid gardener. She was happiest while spending time with her grandchildren and family.
She is survived by her children, Rita Kay Jarvis and husband Mark, Fenton, Mo., Jerry Hood, Greentown, Kathy Jo (Hood) and Roger Heath, Greentown; her grandchildren John Matthew Jarvis and wife Chrissy, Goshen, Kelly Jo Thomas and husband Mike, Indianapolis; great-grandchildren Mark William and Kate Jarvis, Raegan Kay and Ryan Thomas; sister Ellabelle Hubler, Greentown; brother Max Mohler and wife Helen, Greentown.
She is preceded in death by her parents and sister, Rosemary Spencer.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Friday at Hasler & Stout Funeral Home, 112 E. Main St. Greentown. Pastor Joyce Brooks will officiate. Burial is at Greenlawn Cemetery, Greentown. Calling hours are 4 to 7 p.m. today where there will be an Eastern Star service at 7 p.m.
