Dorothy E. Groves

Dorothy E. Groves, 88, Florida, formerly of Kokomo, died at 1:36 am Saturday, June 28, 2008, at Hospice of the Comforter, Altamonte Springs, Fla. Born Dec. 27, 1919, in Logansport, she was the daughter of John and Margaret Wagner. She married Lloyd A. Groves Sr. on March 24, 1935, in Peru.

She had been a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Kokomo. She was member of the Porcelain Arts Society. She enjoyed china painting and reading. She loved her family dearly, especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by two sons, Lawrence A. Groves and wife Barbara, Florida, and Lloyd Groves Jr. and wife Patricia; a daughter, Beverly Shoun and husband Claude, Columbus; seven grandchildren, Kevin Shoun, Columbus, Lesli Gordon, Columbus, Jeff Groves, Kokomo, Terry Groves, Georgia, Larry Groves, Pennsylvania, Kim Groves, Florida, and Gary Groves, North Carolina; six great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Frances Reel, Mary Beechy and Elizabeth Roe.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and a brother, Russell Wagner.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Ellers Mortuary, 3400 S. Webster St., with the Rev. Father Andrew Dudzinski officiating. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the mortuary with a Rosary at 7:30 p.m. Burial will be in Galveston Cemetery, Galveston.
