William F. ‘Bill’ Miller

Aug. 23, 1930 - July 4, 2008

William F. “Bill” Miller, 77, Kokomo, passed away at 3:10 p.m. Friday, July 4, 2008, at St. Joseph Hospital, Kokomo. Born Aug. 23, 1930, in Howard County, he was the son of Lonzo and Vera Miller (Stockwell). On Feb. 3, 1973, in Tennessee, he married Maxine A. (Beavers) Hines.

He worked at Delco Electronics, retiring in 1979 after 31 years of service. He was a member of UAW Local 292. He loved watching NASCAR, working on the computer, playing cards, and watching tennis.

He is survived by a son, William F. Miller Jr., Iraq; three stepsons, Michael W. Hines and wife Linda Kokomo, Stephen R. Hines and wife Connie, Kokomo, and Daniel L. Hines, Delaware; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Helen Holt and Pat Wood, both of Sharpsville; a special stepdaughter, Nancy LaDue and husband Brian, Kokomo; and a special sister-in law, Wanda Miller, Kokomo.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Jack Miller; and a grandson, William F. Miller III.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Ellers Mortuary, Webster Street Chapel, 3400 S. Webster St., with Pastor Greg Reed officiating. Burial will follow in Albright Cemetery, Kokomo. Calling will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at the mortuary.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Howard County Cancer Society. Envelopes will be available at the mortuary.

Arrangements are being handled by Ellers Mortuary Webster Street Chapel.
