Myrtle Guffey

Myrtle Guffey, 94, Windfall, died at 2:57 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 24, 2009, at Fairmont Rehabilitation in Kokomo. She was born July 19, 1915, in Albany, Kentucky to William P. and America (Owens) Clark. Myrtle married Ermon W. Guffey Dec. 30, 1940, he preceded her in death Feb. 14, 1994.
Myrtle was a homemaker. She belonged to the Beulah Land Church in Sharpsville, and was a member of the 50+ club in Windfall. She enjoyed quilting, tending to her flowers and playing the piano.
Survivors include four children, Willis G. Guffey and wife Lauri, Fernley, Nevada, James I. Guffey and wife Viola, Sharpsville, Charlene Helvey and husband Earnest, Windfall, Max DeRossett and wife Alieen, Windfall; grandchildren Jim Guffey, Belinda Grawcock, Polly Wilson, Quincy Guffey, Kathy Whaley, Patty Mooney, Mark, Shawn and Tim DeRossett, Brandon Helvey, Mikal Guffey, Danielle Kiehn, Keenan Helvey, Glen, Aaron, Matthew, Shawna and Melissa Lockwood; 28 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Arthur Clark.
Funeral services are 10 a.m. Thursday at the Beulah Land Church in Sharpsville with Rev. Dan Coomer presiding. Burial will follow at Brookside Cemetery in Windfall. Visitation is 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Young-Nichols Funeral Home and 9 to 10 a.m. Thursday at the church.
