Jessika Joan Catt, 17, Young America, died at 7:51 a.m. Friday, Nov. 13, 2009, as a result of a automobile accident at Cass County Road 200 East and 800 South. She was born Sept. 5, 1992, in Kokomo, the daughter of Robert J. Catt and Sheila E. (Johns) Catt. She worked at Scoops in Burlington for two years. She was a sophomore at Lewis Cass High School in Walton. She was involved with track and choir. She loved her friends, shopping and singing. Her best friend was her aunt Steph.
Surviving are her father, Robert J. Catt, Young America; mother, Sheila E. Catt, Raymore, Mo., two sisters, Tristan Catt, Kokomo, and her companion, Daniel Clouthier, Alisha Parrott, Hartford City, and her husband, Nicholas; paternal grandparents, Harry “Buck” and Mary Ann Catt, Kokomo; maternal grandmother, Rita Johns, Kokomo; aunt, Stephanie Catt, Kokomo, and uncle, Jeff and Kim Catt, Kokomo; aunt, Brenda and Ron Mundy, Kokomo; great-aunt, Patsy Catt, Young America; uncle, Max and Anita Long, Twelve Mile; uncle, Mark and Marcie Long, Kewanna; uncle, Rick and Beth Johns, Walton; uncle, Randy Johns, Kokomo, numerous first and second cousins and special friends, Matthew Handy and Alleigh Hall.
She was preceded in death by an aunt, Mary Lee “Poochie” Catt; and cousins, Jacob Todd Catt, Klayton Maxwell Long.
Services are 1 p.m. Tuesday at the First Baptist Church in Galveston. The Rev. Warren Purcell will officiate. Burial is at North Union Cemetery in Howard County. Calling is 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the First Baptist Church, 207 S. Sycamore St., in Galveston.
Memorial contributions may be made Cass County Humane Society or a scholarship fund will be set up in Jessika’s honor for the Lewis Cass track team.
