Mary Darleen Taylor, 89, Kokomo, died at 3:41 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 24, 2009, at Howard Regional Health System, Kokomo.

She was born July 6, 1920, in Frankfort, to Fern Francis McCord and Gladys Mary (Skeen) McCord. She married Herbert Taylor Jr. on Dec. 18, 1941, in Tipton, and he preceded her in death in January 2001.

She graduated from Frankfort High School in the late 1930s. She enjoyed working crossword puzzles, bowling, reading, playing cards, sewing and knitting.

Survivors include a son, Paul David and wife Josefa C. Taylor, Lawndale, Calif.; granddaughter, Michelle Nicole Taylor, Lawndale, Calif.; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Donald McCord, and a sister-In-law, Jean Scott.

The service is 1 p.m. Saturday at Ellers Mortuary Webster Street Chapel 3400 S. Webster St., with Rev. Harold Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery.
