Harry Allen ‘Pee Wee’ Johnson
Harry Allen “Pee Wee” Johnson, 64, Claypool, formerly of Kokomo, passed away at 10:05 a.m. Thursday, June 27, 2013, at his residence, after a brave fight with cancer. He was born June 3, 1949, in Peru, to Charles William Johnson and Bernice Ellen (Bowman) Johnson. On July 3, 1982, in Tipton, he married Esther Lee (Damewood) Johnson, and she survives.
He graduated from Kokomo High School in 1967. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Reserves. He retired from Hohman Excavating. He also worked at Accurate Parts in Kokomo and was a stay-at-home dad. He enjoyed spending time on Yellow Creek Lake and spending time with his two girls and grandchildren.
Survivors include a daughter, Katherine (Kiser) and husband Robert Kleinschnitz, West Lafayette; daughter, Elizabeth (Johnson) and Anthony Domenico, Chicago; two grandchildren, Zoe Ruth Kleinschnitz and Benjamin Charles Kleinschnitz; brother, Charles Martin Johnson and wife, Danel, Kokomo; brother, Arthur Eric Johnson and wife, Phyllis, Kokomo; and sister, Deborah Kay Johnson and husband, Duane, Kokomo.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Ellers Mortuary, 3400 S. Webster St., with Kenneth Damewood officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the mortuary. Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society.
