Colleen Coffman Craven, 82, Tipton, died at 12:50 p.m. Monday, June 10, 2013, at Miller’s Merry Manor, Tipton. Ms. Craven was born March 29, 1931, in Colfax to Frank and Nurmal (Shy) Coffman, both now deceased. She married Donald E. Craven in Portland on Aug. 12, 1949, and he died Oct. 8, 1999.

She attended Thorntown and Colfax schools, and she retired from Mallory’s (Emerson) after 39 years. She was a member of the Baptist Church in Thorntown and Poplar Grove United Methodist Church in Kokomo. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. Her hobbies included gardening, painting and ceramics.

Preceding her in death were two brothers, Norman, Thorntown, and Ora, Colfax.

Survivors include two daughters, Rita (Chris) Sloan, Sharpsville and Janet (James) Corbit, Kokomo; two sons, Carey Craven, Frankfort, and Donald D. (Gayla) Craven, Santa Clara, Calif.; 13 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.

The funeral was June 14 at Russell & Hitch Funeral Home in Thorntown, with the Rev. Bud Moody officiating. Interment was at Plainview Cemetery, Colfax.
