Dale E. Miller, 71, Kokomo, passed away at 2:29 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2014, at Reflections Memory Care in Kokomo. He was born Dec. 20, 1942 in McArthur, Ohio to the late John W. and Florence N. (Fetherolf) Miller.
Dale graduated from McArthur High School, then began working for General Motors at Delco. He was employed there for over 25 years before retiring. Dale belonged to the UAW local 292 and the Eagles. Following his retirement, Dale bought a dump truck and started a hauling business. He enjoyed driving around and drinking coffee with friends. Dale liked helping anybody in need. Some of his favorite pastimes include word search puzzles and finding unique and “beautiful” rocks.
Dale is survived by his sons, Jeffrey A. (Sherie) Miller and Gregory D. (Jayne) Miller; grandchildren, Steven Miller, Allison Miller, Garrett Miller and Stephanie (Brandon) Grace; great-grandchild, Eva Grace; siblings, June Honaker, Doyle Miller and Penny Montgomery; and sister-in-law, Beulah Miller.
Dale was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Steven Lively; and siblings, John F. Miller and William “Bill” Miller.
Dale’s family would like to extend a special thank you to Guardian Angel Hospice, and the staff at Wellington and Reflections Memory Care for the attention that Dale received as his health was failing.
A memorial service for Dale will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Ellers Mortuary Webster Street Chapel, 3400 S. Webster St., Kokomo, with Rev. Eric Catron and Rev. Robin Wentworth-Mayer officiating. All of Dale’s friends and family are welcome to join together for a time of visitation beginning at 1 p.m. that same day, also at the mortuary.
