Dianna Kay Helsley, 64, Russiaville, passed away Friday, Feb. 14, 2014, at her home. She was born May 19, 1949, to Walter and Berniece Turner. On June 23, 1968, she married James Helsley, and he survives.
She graduated from Eastern High School in 1967 and worked at Delco Electronics, retiring in 1993 after 25 years of service. She cherished many friendships while there. She was a member of UAW Local 292. She became ill in 2007 with MSA. No matter what she endured, she did it with dignity, grace and a smile on her face to share with everyone.
She loved spending time with all her family, especially her two grandsons who were the light of her life. She was an avid sports watcher who always enjoyed watching a good game with her husband. When she was able to attend, she never missed her grandsons’ events over the years.
Survivors include her husband of 45 years, James; daughter, Stacy (Travis) Walker; grandsons, Andrew Smith and Dalton Walker; sister, Loretta Turner, who helped take wonderful care of her the last seven years; and many wonderful family members that she loved dearly.
She was preceded in death by her parents and stepbrother, David Turner.
She would want to thank the wonderful therapists and nurses at Community Howard who took care of her over the years. She will be missed by many.
The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home with Pastor Greg Reed officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
