Clarence L. Showalter, 73, Danville, formerly of Kokomo, died Friday, Feb. 21, 2014 at his home. He was born Oct. 2, 1940 in Buffalo, N.Y., the son of Wayne Malcolm and Frances Charity (Galladay) Showalter.
Clarence was a graduate of Kokomo High School and earned a degree from Indiana University. He retired in 1987 as Director of Plant Operations at Howard Community Hospital.
Survivors include his four children, Cathelene (Kelly) Tedlock, Kokomo, Patricia (Harry) Shuck, Sharpsville, Jeff (Maria) Showalter and Daniel Wayne (Sara) Showalter; 10 grandchildren, Jeremy Hostetler, David (Amy) Sitzes, Sean (Crystal) Hostetler, Stacey (Corey) Taylor, Coral (Chris) King, Josh Showalter, Dani Lynne Showalter, Kelsey Shuck, Ally Showalter and Antonio Showalter; several great-grandchildren; his sister, Peggy (Eugene) Day, Ft. Wayne; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Wayne R. Showalter.
Friends are invited to visit with the family from noon to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home & Crematory, 1315 W. Lincoln Road, Kokomo. A graveside service will follow at 2 p.m. in Albright Cemetery with Pastor Dale Bliss officiating.
