Sharon “Sherry” Lee Neeley, 75, Washington, Ind., moved into her heavenly home Thursday, Feb. 27, 2014. She was born April 24, 1938, in Indianapolis to Otis and Agatha (Fowler) Armstrong. She was married June 21, 1964, to Wayne Edward Neeley, who survives.
She was a pastor’s wife and a teacher for 30 years. She was a graduate of Greenville College, Greenville, Ill. She was a member of the Free Methodist Church, Free Methodist Women’s Ministries International and Daughters of the American Revolution.
She was a devout Christian, energetic and giving — a beautiful expression of God’s love and grace. She loved working with children in her church and will be lovingly remembered and missed by all.
Also surviving are her son, Dewayne (Franki) Neeley, Bowling Green, Ky.; grandsons, Fowler, Oliver and Kruz Neeley, all of Bowling Green, Ky., and Jacob and Drew Hosteter, both of Frankfort; brothers, David (June) Armstrong and Richard (Brenda) Armstrong, all of Bedford; several nieces and nephews; brothers-in-law, James Neeley, Alhambra, Ill., and Harold (Kathy) Neeley, Olney, Ill.; and sisters-in-law, Ruth (Charles) Comb, Greenville, Ill., and Ruby Chestnut, Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Wynette (Neeley) Hosteter, on Sept. 21, 2004, and by her parents.
Services will be at 1 p.m. (EST) Thursday in the Free Methodist Church in Bedford, with the Rev. David Colgan officiating. The graveside service will be at 11 a.m. (CST) Friday at Fairview Cemetery, Bowling Green, Ky. Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. (EST) Wednesday at Washington Free Methodist Church and from 11 a.m. to the time of service Thursday at Bedford Free Methodist Church.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, gifts be made as a memorial fund to Washington Free Methodist Church children’s ministries.
