Margaret L. “Marge” Harrison, 97, went to the Lord Dec. 10, 2013. She was born Nov. 24, 1916, in Peru. She was the daughter of Jacob and Margaret (Radel) Spitznagle. On June 3, 1939, she married Dewey C. Harrison, Kokomo, at St. Charles Catholic Church, Peru. He preceded her in death July 2, 1979.
She was a graduate of Peru High School in 1934. She was employed by Solidarity Federal Credit Union as a bookkeeper and secretary, retiring in 1978.
Marge had several hobbies and was very active in various organizations. She had been a member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church since 1939. She volunteered at The Nearly New Shop and was a former Girl Scout and Cub Scout leader. She was a member of St. Joseph Hospital Cheer Guild. She was also active in the Kokomo Women’s Bowling Association (K.W.B.A.), where she served as treasurer and was on the board of directors. She was inducted into the K.W.B.A. Hall of Fame in May 2000. She served on the board of directors of the Doral Park Homeowners Association. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, crafts, bowling, golfing, playing cards, and socializing with friends. She also belonged to several travel clubs and traveled for 25 years.
Marge mostly enjoyed spending time with her family. She loved them very much.
She is survived by two daughters, Connie (Tom) Burt, Kokomo, and Marsha (Hank) Reinhardt, West Milton, Ohio; son, Mark (Rae Lynn) Harrison, Austin, Texas; grandchildren, Kelly (John) Speidel, Carmel, Brian Burt (Mary Siefert), Noblesville, Hilary Reinhardt, Cincinnati, Ohio, Megan (Mike) Laurin, Chicago, Ill., Evan Harrison, Atlanta, Ga., Emily and Ian Harrison (Lauren Craig), Austin, Texas; great-grandchildren, Allison and Emily Speidel, Erin and Brandon Burt, Keegan and Kaleb Siefert, Ellie Harrison; and two nieces and a nephew.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, her sisters, Gertrude Turner and Rosanna Redmon, and brother, Victor Spitznagle.
